So just in case anyone has actually been looking at my blog and the little ticker I've got up for my Miles Challenge, you will notice that I jumped from 15 miles yesterday to 21 miles today...
I did 6 miles yesterday!!!
It was great. After a weekend of nothing and feeling a little sick, I was ready to get into the gym and kick ass yesterday. And ass I did kick, and it was awesome! I did intervals of about 2-3 minutes of running to 1 minute of walking for 60 minutes, which got me to 5.75 miles, and then finished off with .25 mi of walking for a long cooldown. The surprising thing is that I'm not incredibly sore or tired this morning, which makes me realize just how strong I am.
Today I'm going to put in around 3 miles and call it good so I don't completely tire myself out for the rest of the week. I have a weigh-in tomorrow, so tonight is kind of my "last chance workout". I plan on getting in my miles and then doing ab and arm exercises, because my arms are fat and I don't want them to be for my wedding. I'm looking at ways to incorporate more strength training in because it will make me faster and stronger for my runs.
This makes me realize just how many ups and downs I'm going to have. After this weekend I was feeling like crap about myself, and now I feel great! I just need to take it all in and pick myself up when things are going downhill. I'll have struggles, but there is always a way to get out of it if I try. And try I will!!!
